Vice President of Finance
Bill Strom serves as Vice President of Finance for Greenwood Hospitality Group. In his role, he ensures that each hotel adopts Greenwood’s standard operational procedures and accounting processes. Mr. Strom is also responsible for the training of all newly hired controllers to ensure accounting policies and procedures are implemented consistently.
Mr. Strom has more than 30 years of experience overseeing both centralized and de-centralized accounting operations at hotels and resorts. Prior to his current role, he directed the financial accounting functions for upscale hotels such as the Renaissance Hotel in Asheville North Carolina and the Village at Breckenridge, located in Breckenridge, Colorado. There he oversaw the accounting functions for 4-hotels, 9-Food and Beverage outlets, 8-condo associations, a high volume travel agency, and a condo design firm. Having coupled his various operational and accounting roles at the property level together with corporate office involvement, Mr. Strom has gained unique perspectives that significantly benefit each hotel in the Greenwood portfolio.
Throughout his career, Mr. Strom’s focus has been in controlling costs and maximizing value. He has implemented inventory software and requisition controls as well as establishing online bidding system to ensure best pricing. He also has experience in researching and implementing tailored property level benefits programs, including group insurance, cafeteria plans, 401K plans, disability plans and life insurance components.
